EVAL Americas is a business unit of Kuraray America, Inc., which is a fully owned subsidiary of Kuraray Company Ltd., the world leader in EVOH production and technology.

Kuraray Company Ltd. was established in 1926 in Kurashiki, Japan, for the industrial manufacture of chemical fibers. Since then, the company has capitalized fully on its technological strengths in the fields of polymerization and synthetics. Today, the Kuraray Group consists of about 70 companies, employing about 7,000 people worldwide.

One of Kuraray's core businesses is EVAL™ Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer (EVOH), for which production began in Japan in 1972 at the world's first EVOH production plant. Sales and development were further supported with the foundation of the EVAL Company of America plant in Pasadena, Texas in 1983, which has become the world's largest EVOH production facility. In 1997, EVAL Europe nv was founded to supply the European, Middle Eastern and African market with the superior EVAL™ EVOH copolymer resins from a plant in Antwerp, Belgium.
