EVAL AMERICAS

EVAL Americas was founded in 1983 in order to supply superior high-barrier EVOH (ethylene vinyl alcohol) copolymer resins to the United States, Canadian, Mexican and Central and South American markets under the EVAL™ trademark. We are committed to strong technical support and applications development, which is essential to the expanding high barrier resin marketplace. As a result, EVAL Americas is the undisputed leader in providing EVOH barrier solutions to our customers.

Manufacturing

EVAL Americas resin plant, the first grassroots facility in the United States for the production of EVOH resins, was completed and began producing commercial resins in late 1986. Located at the Bayport Industrial Complex in Pasadena, Texas, near Houston, the plant has annual capacity of 77.5 million pounds (35,000MT) of EVOH. The EVAL resin production, based upon technology that our parent company, Kuraray Co., Ltd commercialized in 1972, has continually been improved to meet rapidly expanding market needs. This proprietary manufacturing process combined with a carefully selected degree of polymerization and proper co-polymerization ratio of ethylene to vinyl alcohol result in the exceptional gas barrier properties of EVAL™ resins.

Research, Development and Technical Support

To offer local technical service and development assistance to our broad customer base, EVAL Americas and our parent company, Kuraray Co., Ltd, have established an $8,500,000 research and development center expansion located in our Pasadena, Texas manufacturing facility. At the new facility, EVAL Americas develops new applications for EVAL™ EVOH resins and provides outstanding technical service to our customers through joint development projects, analytical support and effective troubleshooting.
